In this intensive training session, attendees will learn how to develop a clear marketing strategy and business plan to promote themselves and their groups and learn professional public relations techniques for more effective use of advertising and publicity, including how to advance a cause through both traditional and social media. Attendees will further discover how to tell a compelling story and how to better organize themselves for effective activism.
Edwords has spent nearly forty years as a humanist activist, first in California, then as executive director of the American Humanist Association, editor of the Humanist magazine, and currently as national director of the United Coalition of Reason. He was also the first president of Camp Quest, Inc., and served on the founding board of the National Center for Science Education. He currently serves on the Broader Social Impacts Committee for the Smithsonian’s Hall of Human Origins in Washington DC and is on the Humanist Institute’s adjunct faculty.
