Religious liberty in the United States has traditionally been interpreted as an individual’s right to worship (or not) as she or he sees fit. But lately religious conservatives have been working to redefine religious freedom as a right to ignore secular laws and discriminate against others. This talk will explain why this interpretation of religious freedom is wrong and must be resisted.

He also serves as editor of Church & State magazine and has authored three books: Close Encounters with the Religious Right: Journeys into the Twilight Zone of Religion and Politics, The Most Dangerous Man in America? Pat Robertson and the Rise of the Christian Coalition,and Why the Religious Right Is Wrong About Separation of Church and State. Boston serves on the board of directors of the American Humanist Association.
